“If you will it, dude, it is no dream.”
It isn’t often that I get the chance to open a blog post by quoting The Big Lebowski, but the particular subject at hand afforded me a golden opportunity to do so as we touch on the issue of what it takes to lead the life you really want.
My question for you is a simple one: Are you happy at work?
For Americans like myself, the answer is a resounding, “no!” Studies show less than a third of Americans with full-time employment consider themselves to be “engaged or inspired” at work, while the remaining two-thirds say they’re “not engaged” or “actively disengaged.”
In America and throughout the world, workplace displeasure can come from a myriad of sources, including crummy corporate leadership, nonstop office politics, terrible traffic jams, even a lack of sunlight mixed with stress-causing florescent lighting—and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
So perhaps you’re sick of it. You’re sick of the grind. You’re sick of the politicking. You’re sick of the commute. You’re mad as heck, and you’re not going to take it anymore!
